Liberties Snapped Photography Exhibition
22nd July 2017
The concept of the exhibition Liberties Snapped came out of a conversation with Ger O’ Donnell, the Director of the Liberties festival. We discussed the possibility of holding mobile phone workshops and an exhibition showing some of the work produced by the attendees. It was decided to hold 2 four hour workshops including a photowalk of the Liberties area. The workshop was held in June over a weekend and 20 people attended the workshops. For many of them it was the first time to do street photography on their phones.
The aim of the workshops was to increase people’s confidence of using their mobile phone on the street and to capture elements of the famous bustling liberties area. Elements that we sometimes miss in our busy day to day lives.
The photographs in this exhibition are all taken with a mobile phone. I want to thank everyone that has contributed to this Exhibition especially the prize sponsors Olliclip, Pictar, The Kilarney Framer and the other judges, Claire Byrne from Mobophotofest and Keith Kennedy from Hahnel Industries Ltd
